On 15th December 2022 (Thursday) marks the start of the traditional Filipino Christmas Novena Mass at 8:00 pm.
It will be concluded on the 23rd of December 2022 at 6:00 pm.
All are invited to join.
We will be celebrating Deacon Paul Ly's 50th anniversary with the parish at the 11am mass with refreshments afterwards. See the photos here.
Saturday 13th August is the Golden Jubilee of Ordination for Fr Pat Ryall OSM. He is celebrating the day at his family home in Annakisha, Co. Cork where he was ordained. We will have a Golden Jubilee Celebration for him, with a thanksgiving for his long service as Parish Priest, here on Sunday 25th September 2022 at the 11.00 Mass with a Reception to follow. Please join in praying congratulations for him. You are invited to contribute to a thanksgiving offering over the coming weeks to Fr. Prior or the Parish Office.
The Service Provincial chapter will be from 12th – 16th September. Most of the Friars of this Community will be involved in the business of the Chapter and will be unavailable for duties on those days.
Our Servite Family joint association, "UNIFAS of the ISLES", is planning a Marian Visual Event for the feast of Our Lady at the Foot of the Cross on Friday 26th March 2021 at 12:00PM. Fr Paul Addison will give a presentation (talk with slides) on Mary’s role in the mystery of Salvation. It will be at noon, and about half-an-hour in length. If you wish any information about this, please contact Fr Paul directly.
The Servite Filipino community will celebrate Simbang Gabi (a series of 9 Night Masses) at Our lady of Dolours church in the runup to Christmas. On each of the abovementioned days (inclusive) there will be a mass at 8pm. Due to CV-19, social distancing rules will apply.
Between April and October 2018, various organists performed recitals at the Servite Church to commemorate our church organ's 50th Anniversary.
On this glorious midsummer's day the London Servite church held an international mass to celebrate the wonderful diversity of nations and cultures that make up our parish.
The Feast of our Seven Holy Founders was celebrated on Friday 17th February in 2017. For all Servite parishioners this is a first-class Feast and being the Feast of our Founders, the Friday Abstinence is lifted.
During the Community Mass and Celebration of the Feast of Our Seven Holy Founders, Parish Priest, Father Patrick Ryall OSM officially presented the Papal Award of the Benemerenti Medal to Mr James Sewell in recognition of his long and most generous service to the Servite Parish Community, a Church Honour well deserved.
Mr Sewell has for almost 50 years provided dedicated financial and accounting services to the Our of Dolours Servite Church. The whole community of Our Lady of Dolours Servite Church is extremely proud of Mr Sewell and his Papal Award.
World Youth Day is an international Catholic event focused on religious faith and youth, which was celebrated from 25 – 31 July 2016 in Krakow, Poland. This was announced by Pope Francis at the end of the closing Mass of World Youth Day 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
We have received a great deal of support from parishioners and are looking forward to a great day.
We are looking for donations of new and unopened items in the following categories: wines, spirits, toiletries gift sets, chocolates, cakes, biscuits and other food items.
Also used but good quality toys, books and brick a brack items. Please no clothing this year.
All items can be deposited in the large boxes in the colonnade on weekend 15 Nov. Raffle tickets can also be collected from the colonnade or parish office and returned to the parish office with all monies.
Many thanks for your support; we know that our Parish Community is a special one, so let us work together to support it.
Gibraltar Day 2015 was celebrated in London on Monday 12th October 2015 and was in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the evacuation of Gibraltar.
A special Mass of Thanksgiving was held at Our Lady of Dolours Servite church on at 12:15pm on Sunday 11th October.
We were honoured and delighted the Chief Minister of Gibraltar, The Hon Fabian Picardo QC MP, other dignitaries from Gibraltar, The Worshipful the Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea Councilor Robert Freeman were in attendance.
We were also delighted to welcome back to our Parish, the Rt. Rev. Ralph Heskett, CSsR, Bishop Administrator of Gibraltar and Bishop of Hallam to the celebratory Mass of Thanksgiving on the 75th Anniversary of the Evacuation of Gibraltar.
In September 2014 our Prior General, Fr Gottfried Wolff OSM and his General Council together with Prior Provincials and Superiors from around the world assembled in London for their International meeting and also for the celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Servite presence in London and the English-speaking world.
As part of the celebrations, a dinner and concert were held at St Mary’s University, Twickenham on Friday 12th September
On Sunday 14th September our Archbishop, Cardinal Vincent Nichols presided over the 12.15 p.m. Mass which was followed by a lunch for all present in the School Hall and Marquees. It was well attended by our parishioners.
On Monday 15th September our Prior General, Fr Gottfried Wolff presided over the 6.30 p.m. Mass, which was followed by a Reception in the School Hall for those present. The celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows was also well supported by our parishioners.
